My Amityville Horror (2012)
Movie two for the October challenge is going to be a short
post. My Amityville Horror is a documentary
about the events that led to all the Amityville Horror movies. They got the kid who lived there to basically
just tell his version of everything that went on there. He’s angry and crazy but also passionate and
a pretty good storyteller. The movie
shows him being interviewed about his life, talking about it to a psychiatrist
and him reliving his youth with people from his past. The coolest thing about the whole movie is
when he visits Lorraine Warren who was a parapsychologist that visited the
haunted house when he was a child. What
makes that cool? If you have seen The
Conjuring, (which I will be watching this month) that is the name of the main
character. I just think it’s neat that’s
all.
Rating: 5.5 starburst candy corns. The movie is about an hour and a half long
and could’ve been cut down to an hour.
What hurts it the most is about five minute segment near the end. After hearing Lutz tell us all of these tales
about paranormal events he’s seen, a psychiatrist pops up and explains how it
sounds like everything he has said is made up and she makes a lot of
sense. Maybe I’m just stupid and thought
hey this is a documentary so all of the crazy things he is saying must be true
but it was a downer to hear her prove him wrong. Oh well, onto the next movie.
Peek-a-boo!
